The 50th annual Peterborough Santa Claus Parade takes place on Saturday, Dec. 6. The parade begins at 5:15 p.m. at city hall, 500 George St., and runs down George Street, ending at Prince Street. The theme of this year’s parade is “Fifties on the 50th.”

Jazz in Peterborough, dedicated to bringing more live jazz to town, presents the Mike Murley and Mark Eisenman Duo on Saturday, Dec. 6 at 7:30 p.m. at St. James Players, 221 Romaine St.

Described by organizers, as “two of the best jazz musicians in Canada,” the show features Murley on saxophone and Eisenman on piano. Murley is a multi-Juno Award winning musician who has recorded with legendary Canadian artists, collaborated with younger generations of composers and is well known for his work with the electric jazz group Metalwood. Eisenman has performed with many eminent Canadian and American jazz artists, had numerous radio........
