The City of Peterborough invites everyone to roll, stroll and celebrate in a joyful, inclusive and accessible Canada Day event that brings our community together.

Festivities get underway at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday outside city hall, 500 George St., with opening remarks and pre-parade activities. A decorated bike contest is open to all ages, children and adults, with loot bags for all participants.

The Canada Day parade begins at 10 a.m., running down George Street and ending at Del Crary Park. In addition to decorated bicycles and riders, more than 20 entries will join in the parade.

Festivities in the park begin at 11 a.m. It is an opportunity to reflect, connect and celebrate the diverse cultures, histories and stories that shape Peterborough.

The free, family-friendly event includes food and beverage vendors, arts and crafts vendors, community organizations and live, multicultural performances on the main stage. Performances include Naandewegaan, Healing with Drums, Soul Nritya Dance School and Cale Crowe.
