The Kawartha Potters Guild Spring Sale is coming up on Friday, April 25, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday, April 26 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, April 27 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with free admission and free parking at 993 Talwood Dr.

“A gift of pottery made by a local potter would be an excellent present for birthdays, weddings, graduation, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day or teachers,” says JoAnne Connell Northey, sale co-ordinator.

The sale features 18 potters who have created their pieces either on the wheel or by using hand-building techniques. The majority of the work will be functional and will include mugs, bowls, vases, jewelry, garden decor, and sculpture.

“The many talented potters in this guild make a variety of items, each in their own style,” continues Northey. “Each piece is totally unique. Potters decorate their pieces in a variety of methods and then decide on a glaze of a specific colour that best enhances their design.”
