Petes preview: Plenty of players to watch for Peterborough OHL club

A common quote from fans of the Peterborough Petes is that there’s nowhere to go but up for the club this season. In reality, it should be an accurate statement.

The Petes finished last place in the OHL standings during the 2024-25 campaign, amassing just 18 wins in 68 games. The maroon and white were also last in the league in goals, after manufacturing only 172 tallies.

While it’s reasonable for fans to temper their expectations heading into the regular season, there are numerous players on the club that should provide plenty of excitement. A list of players to watch closely this season include:

The Petes first overall selection in the 2025 OHL draft enters his rookie underage season. McGregor is a “jack of all trades” and excels in many facets of the game. McGregor demonstrated in training camp that he is willing to engage his opponents physically. He also showed off his offensive creativity, scoring a beautiful goal in the maroon and white game. McGregor impressively batted the puck into the net off his own rebound on a breakaway. First overall picks often turn into prolific stars in........
