Buckhorn is home to a hidden gem for any hockey lover
Some of my favourite venues in the NHL include the TD Garden in Boston, the United Center in Chicago, also known as the Madhouse on Madison, and the Bell Centre in Montreal.
Whether it’s anthem singer Jim Cornelison performing “The Star-Spangled Banner” among 20,000 screaming Blackhawks fans, or feeling the emotions of 20,000 plus Canadiens fans chanting “Ole, olé,” NHL facilities have the ability to create lasting memories.
This also includes stopping for a photograph alongside the Bobby Orr statue in front of TD Garden in Boston, immortalizing Orr’s 1970 Stanley Cup-clinching goal against the St. Louis Blues.
Some of my fondest memories as a youngster were attending Maple Leaf Gardens with my father. There was nothing better than watching some of my favourite NHLers live, such as Felix Potvin, Doug Gilmour and Wendel Clark.
I’ve also been fortunate to pay visits to the Saddledome........
