Crime Control in Sheikhupura

The true measure of police performance is not merely the number of cases registered or suspects arrested. The real success of an effective policing system is reflected in a reduction in crime, timely resolution of citizens’ complaints, professional investigation, action against wanted criminals, welfare of police martyrs and Ghazis, and protection of the lives and property of citizens. The performance of Sheikhupura Region Police under the leadership of the RPO reflects progress across these important areas.

According to the available performance figures, overall crime in Sheikhupura Region declined by 26 percent in 2026 compared with 2025. This is an encouraging indicator of improved crime prevention and field policing. In a large police region, where crime patterns vary from district to district, achieving a sustained reduction requires effective supervision, intelligence based policing, patrolling and continuous monitoring.

The reduction in serious crimes is particularly significant. Murder cases declined by 15 percent, attempted murder cases by 47 percent, while robbery cases registered a remarkable 79 percent decrease. Other important categories of crime also recorded reductions of 37 percent and 44 percent. These figures matter because serious crimes directly affect the public’s sense of security and confidence in law-enforcement institutions.

The performance of a police command should also be judged by the quality of investigation and action against criminal elements. The RIB figures show 102 cases in 2024, 83 in 2025 and 69 in 2026, making a total of 254 cases. These figures demonstrate........
