Teenager with rare condition given royal treatment at prom
Bethany Smith, 16, from Cringleford, was supported by staff at East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) at the Nook before heading to her prom at Sprowston Manor.
She picked her own hair style and make-up from pictures online, and she left the hospice in style beneath a balloon arch and a mini guard of honour.

Her father, Steve Smith, said: "It was very emotional, and I welled up as soon as I saw her in her dress.
"There was a lot of love, and everyone was in tears.
"She looked so grown up and absolutely stunning, and we both felt proud and overwhelmed."

Bethany lives with Mitochondrial Myopathy, a rare condition that affects her muscle function and energy levels and requires her to use a wheelchair.
