Woman who started fire by lighting clothing destroyed home and caused £150k of damage

Donna Drewery started the fire that swept through the property on Norfolk Drive in Attleborough.

Norwich Crown Court heard the 48-year-old had to be pulled out of the burning building by a neighbour.

Bethan Rogers, prosecuting, said Drewery had set light to a top in the semi-detached Flagship Housing property she lived at with her two sons.

She was described as appearing "vacant," stating in the aftermath of the fire that she "wanted to go with it" and "didn't want to be here anymore."

Six fire crews battled to control the blaze that broke out at 3.15pm on March 3, with neighbouring households warned to keep windows closed and a thick column of black smoke visible from the nearby A11.

When police and emergency services arrived, Drewery was said to be "zoned out" and "emotionally........
