Raymond Williams has gone on trial accused of murdering his estranged wife, Tania Williams.

The 49-year-old mother-of-four was found "lying in a pool of blood" near Catherine Gardens in Thorpe St Andrew before police were called at 11.41pm on January 17 this year.

A jury panel of eight men and six women at Norwich Crown Court have heard her throat had been "repeatedly slashed".

The court heard Williams had separated from his wife but was "consumed by jealousy" and "unable to come to terms with her new life as a single woman".

Williams was said to be "lying in wait" for Ms Williams when she returned home from a night out on her own in Norwich.
