Raymond Williams, 61, has gone on trial for the murder of Tania Williams.

The body of the 49-year-old mother-of-four was found "lying in a pool of blood" near her home in Catherine Gardens at Thorpe St Andrew on Saturday, January 17.

Norwich Crown Court has been told by prosecutors that Williams had been "lying in wait" for Ms Williams following a night out in the city where the defendant followed her from bar to bar.

On Friday, August 7, the jury of seven men and five women heard that after arriving back at his home on Dereham Road, Williams, who had earlier turned off his phone, powered it back on at 12.02am on January 18.

He then texted Ms Williams at 12.03am.

Williams, who had dropped Ms Williams into the city on the night, wrote: "My phone died, told you I'll give you a lift."
