Benjamin Katabana stabbed Uchenna Okirie, 33, to death in the corridor of Somerleyton House, in Norwich's Golden Triangle, after luring him out of his flat through a series of goading WhatsApp messages.

The 28-year-old had denied murder but offered a guilty plea to manslaughter with diminished responsibility.

But following a trial, which finished last month at Norwich Crown Court, a jury took less than six hours to find him guilty of murder.

Katabana, of Somerleyton Street, Norwich, is due back at court for a sentencing hearing on July 31.

The killing was captured on CCTV in the accommodation block, with the footage showing Katabana stab his victim once.

He then went on to repeatedly attack Mr Okirie and kick him in the head in a violent loss of control his defence had said was due to his traumatic upbringing in the DRC, where both his parents and a sister died.

After the attack, Katabana - who came to the UK in 2010 and went to the Hewett School - then activated the fire alarm at the multi-occupancy residence and made his way through the city to Bethel Street where he handed himself in to police........
