The first staging of a brand new car boot sale is being held at Swaffham Rugby Club in Pickenham Road on Sunday (April 19).

Sellers will be allowed to start pitching up from 8am, and buyers will be allowed in at 9am.

Pitches cost £8 per car and £15 per van.

A spokesman for the event said: "Spend the morning wandering through a proper car boot sale and honestly… nothing beats it.

"Hidden gems, random treasures, and that unbeatable thrill of finding something amazing for next to nothing."

Food vendors, including an ice cream van, will be at the sale, which has been advertised as "weather depending".

A car boot sale in North Walsham's Memorial Park runs from 9am to 1pm on certain Sundays, giving buyers four hours to browse a wide range of stalls.

Buyers can enter for free and parking is available at North Walsham High School.

Sellers are invited to set up their pitches at no cost. They can enter via Happisburgh Road at 8am and can exit via Farman Avenue from 1pm.

North Walsham Town Council, which is organising the sales, said visitors can expect everything from bric-a-brac and books to toys, clothes and household items, alongside the usual mix of one-off curiosities.

The car boot sale will run again on May 10, June 14, July 12, August 2, September 13 and October 11.

Although there is no cost to take part, donations towards new play equipment for the park are encouraged.

The Arminghall event takes place on a field off Stoke Road, just south of Norwich.

It has been a firm favourite among local bargain hunters for decades, often attracting up to 600 sellers.

Because of this, in September, The Sun newspaper dubbed it the "biggest and best" in the UK .

The event runs every Sunday, Wednesday and bank holiday Monday until November.

Buyers are welcome from 7.30am on Sundays and 6.30am on Wednesdays.

Sellers can arrive between 5.30am and 9am, and pitches cost £10 for cars and small vans, £13 for large vans, £15 for Lutons and box trucks and £20 for extra large Lutons.

Trailers are an additional £3 per pitch and double pitches start at £18.

4. Cherry Tree Car Boot

The Cherry Tree Car Boot Sale in Fakenham is located just off the B1105 Barsham Road.

The organisers held the last event of 2025 at the end of October, so bargain hunters have had to wait several months for a rummage.

It will run every Sunday this season, with buyers able to access the site from 7am to 12pm.

All pitches cost £5 for sellers, who can set up from 6am, and buyers can pay 50p per car for parking.

Banham Car Boot returned to Banham Zoo car park in Kenninghall Road on April 12.

The event was a hit before it was forced into a five-year hiatus due to Covid.

However, following a trial period in late 2024, the sale was reinstated for biweekly events last year.

"There was a lovely buzz about the place and lots of locals talking about how nice it was to be back," a spokeswoman said at the time.

"It's been lovely to see it buzzing again. I have really innate memories of coming here as a child so to have been able to take my nearly two-year-old son was lovely."

After the success of its return, organisers have decided to ramp up the frequency of the sales this year, and they will now take place every Sunday morning until the end of the season in September.
