MP accuses council of 'ignoring extremists' as St George's flag hung on streetlamps
Clive Lewis, MP for Norwich South, has criticised the display that has appeared near the Brook Hotel in Bowthorpe, which is home to asylum seekers and has attracted protests in recent weeks.
Norfolk County Council said it is "not prioritising" the removal of the St George's flag and Union Flag from streetlights in the area, and is instead focusing on "more urgent" highways issues.
Mr Lewis criticised the authority for "looking the other way" and suggested the flags had been displayed by "extremists" who hoped to "mark their territory".
