City woman set to run new beauty salon from garage

Georgia Evans, who runs Glamified Beauty and Massage, will convert her Thorpe St Andrew double garage into a small treatment room where her customers can have their nails, lashes and eyebrows done or also opt for a facial or massage.

Miss Evans says she will only see one client at a time, with a maximum of five clients a day at her salon on Henby Way.

She added in her application: "My partner and I will share one vehicle during working hours and as a result, there will be sufficient on-site parking for clients, and no on-street parking displacement."

One neighbour raised concerns about the increased number of vehicles in the cul-de-sac, but planners for City Hall, who approved Miss Evans' application, said: "A condition is included to limit the use to one client at a time.

"It is therefore considered that there is sufficient on site parking and that there would not be any significant impact on highway safety."
