Mayday over future of centuries-old pub in Nelson's Norfolk village
Now the pub named after Norfolk's hero in the village he was born in looks set to close as the brewer behind it issued a Mayday call over its future.
Locals at Burnham Thorpe, near Burnham Market, have been told the Lord Nelson is set to call time next month.
The historic inn has been run by pub firm the Ebrington Collection since last summer, but staff have been told it will be shutting on September 6.

Woodforde's Brewery, which leases the premises from owners the Holkham Estate, said it was now looking for a new operator to take over.
Paul Sullivan, its chief executive, said: “We were proud to have been chosen by the Holkham Estate to reopen The Lord Nelson in 2021 - although last year we made the decision to step away........
