Centre declares most part of Manipur as ‘disturbed area’, declaration to come into effect from Oct 1

The Centres said that the declaration will remain in effect for six months from October 1, 2026, unless the same is withdrawn earlier.

New Delhi: The Centre on Friday said declared most part of Manipur , apart from areas under 13 specified police stations, as ‘disturbed area’ under the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act, 1958. It said that the declaration will remain in effect for six months from October 1, 2026, unless the same is withdrawn earlier.
