US pharmacy giant Walgreens to open tech centre in Chennai, 250 jobs expected in first year

US healthcare and pharmacy company Walgreens has signed an MoU with the Tamil Nadu government to establish its first India Global Capability Centre in Chennai. The facility, planned at DLF Downtown in Taramani, is expected to create over 250 jobs in its first year.

US-based healthcare and pharmacy company Walgreens is set to establish a Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The company has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the state government, with the proposed facility expected to create more than 250 jobs in its first year. The agreement was signed on Friday, September 18, in the presence of Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay.
