‘We want to go home’: Abducted, converted, married, 2 minor Hindu sisters plead in Pak

Two Hindu sisters, reportedly aged 13 and 14, were sent to a safe house by a court in Pakistan’s Sindh province after allegedly being abducted, converted to Islam and married. The girls reportedly pleaded to return to their parents. Rights activists have demanded independent legal support and a child-sensitive process.

Two minor Hindu sisters in Pakistan’s Sindh province reportedly broke down outside a court after being denied immediate custody of their parents and ordered to stay at a safe house.

The girls, identified by minority-rights activists as Seeta and Roopi, are reportedly aged 13 and 14 and belong to the Kachhi Kolhi community. Their family has alleged that the sisters were abducted, converted to Islam and married to Amjad Solangi and Mansoor Solangi.
