Porsche is making 15 one-offs, which include one $15 million car as well
Porsche is looking to improve profitability by focusing on exclusive, highly personalised vehicles rather than increasing sales volumes, and the German brand has 15 bespoke one-off projects they are working on.
New Delhi: Porsche is shifting its attention towards high-value, low-volume vehicles as it looks to strengthen its financial position. The German sports carmaker wants to bring its annual break-even point below 200,000 vehicles. It would reduce its dependence on selling large numbers of cars to remain profitable.
The strategy comes following a challenging period for Porsche, with declining earnings, tariffs, growing competition in China and expensive electrification investments affecting its business. Instead of focusing on increasing overall sales, Porsche intends to generate higher revenue from individual vehicles through exclusive commissions, limited-production models and factory-backed restoration programmes.
