Infantry leading India's military transformation with focus on Atmanirbharta, says DG Infantry
New Delhi: Infantry remains at forefront of the Indian army — steadfast, adaptive, and technologically transforming to meet future challenges, Director General Infantry Lieutenant General Ajay Kumar said during an informal media interaction ahead of Shaurya Diwas 2025.
The DG Infantry said the army’s wing is advancing under the vision of a “Sashakt aur Surakshit Bharat”, aligned with Viksit Bharat@2047, with transformation centred on Atmanirbharta, modernisation, and human resource excellence under the Army’s Decade of Transformation initiative.
Talking about the Shaurya Diwas (October 27) he said it symbolises the valour, sacrifice, and indomitable spirit of the Infantry. “It connects our proud legacy with contemporary recognition,” Lt Gen Kumar said. On October 27, 1947, 1 SIKH Regiment landed at Srinagar........
