Delhi SIR: Over 47 lakh voters missing from draft electoral rolls, October 30 deadline to file claims

Delhi's Special Intensive Revision has reduced the draft electoral roll from 1.45 crore registered voters to 97.53 lakh. Election officials have urged residents to verify their names and file claims or objections before October 30, ahead of the final electoral roll's publication on December 4.

The Election Commission has now urged residents to check their names before the October 30 deadline for filing claims and objections. The exercise began on June 30, with officials visiting households to collect voter enumeration forms. The Chief Electoral Officer has maintained that eligible voters must get an opportunity to register and that no name can be deleted from the draft roll without a fair hearing.
