Alibaba unveils Zhenwu V900 AI chip with huge performance claim

Alibaba's T-Head unit has unveiled the Zhenwu V900 for AI training and inference. The company claims a threefold performance gain over the M890, while commercial release is planned for early 2027.

Alibaba’s chip design unit T-Head has unveiled the Zhenwu V900, a new processor built for artificial intelligence training and inference. The company presented the chip at its annual Apsara conference in Hangzhou on September 22.

Alibaba says the V900 delivers three times the performance of its previous Zhenwu M890 processor. The claim has not yet been supported by publicly available independent benchmarks, so direct comparisons with rival chips remain limited.
