India weather today: Heavy rains predicted for Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu; windy weather to prevail in Odisha, Andhra

Rains in South India and northeastern states will likely be accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, said the weather office. Strong surface winds are also likely in coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Rayalaseema and parts of Karnataka. Once again Delhi-NCR will not witness any major rainfall activity.

New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted isolated and scattered rains for Friday in several states across India. The states expected to get rainfall on October 2, include Kerala Coastal Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and parts of northeast India.

Apart from these places isolated heavy showers may hit Andhra Pradesh and other parts of South India, they said, according to a report in the Times of India. Some parts of Arunachal Pradesh also might witness heavy rains.
