India invites Pakistan for SCO event in Delhi, 18 months after Operation Sindoor

The SCO's inaugural Civilisational Dialogue Forum is being organised jointly by the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of External Affairs. The invite to Pakistan comes nearly 18 months after Operation Sindoor.

New Delhi: India has invited all 10 member countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation’s inaugural Civilisational Dialogue Forum to be held in Delhi. This includes Pakistan. The event is set to be held between November 20 to November 22.

Pakistan last attended the SCO’s foreign minister’s meeting, held in Goa, in May 2023.

An official in the know of things, was quoted by Hindustan Times as saying, that all member countries of SCO have been invited for the Dialogue and this has nothing to do with the bilateral relations between the 2 countries. He added that the development should be viewed in the broader context.
