New Delhi: At least 15 people have been killed including two children, and many others injured after a severe overcrowding at New Delhi Railway Station on Saturday night, officials said. The incident occurred around 10 pm on platforms 13 and 14, as thousands of Maha Kumbh devotees gathered to board their trains, leading to panic among passengers. The injured has been rushed to the hospital while more details are awaited.

The Union Railways Ministry issued an official statement which ‘called’ the stampede-like situation at the New Delhi Railway Station as an “unprecedented rush”.

“An Unprecedented rush situation developed today at about 10 pm in New Delhi railway station near platform no 13 & 14. Some of the passengers present there on the platforms........
