Mumbai: The BSE Sensex jumped 862.23 points or 1.04 per cent to settle at 83,467.66 on October 16, 2025, Thursday. The NSE Nifty gained 261.75 points to end at 25,585.30. The equity benchmark indices surged tracking a rally in global markets amid US Fed rate cut hopes. It may be noted that Foreign Institutional Investors pumping in money in the domestic market on Wednesfday also added to the markets’ optimism during the initial trade.
