WITT 2025: A balancing act amidst uncertainty, India in the new world order

New Delhi: The third iteration of TV9 Network’s ‘What India Thinks Today’ Global Summit is back, with a power-packed event whose key-note address was delivered by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the event’s first day on Friday. Today on the event’s second day of WITT 2025, the first session pertains to an imperative issue, ‘India in the New World Order’. The topic of the session is apt, in the rapidly evolving global landscape of today, India is emerging as a key player in shaping the changing world order.

With its growing economic strength, demographic dividend and strategic autonomy, India is positioning itself as the bridge between the global south and advanced economies. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India has pursued an assertive foreign policy, while championing the interests of developing nations. India’s voice on issues like climate justice and digital governance is gaining prominence as it becomes a key global voice that is now being heard by everyone around the world.

The panel speakers for the session were in line with the gravitas and importance of the topic that was being discussed. Shombi Sharp, UN Resident Coordinator in India was present. As was Abdullah Shahid, Former Foreign minister of Maldives and President of UNGA and Ajay Bisaria, India’s Former High Commissioner to Canada and Pakistan.
