New Delhi: US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth met Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during an unannounced visit to Israel on Monday, October 19, Axios reported, citing two sources familiar with the meeting.

The visit came eight days before Israel’s October 27 parliamentary elections and amid discussions between Washington and Tel Aviv about the possibility of resuming major military operations against Iran, according to Axios.

The Pentagon and the Israeli Embassy in Washington did not immediately respond to requests for comment.........
