Chinese President Xi Jinping skipped PM Modi's BRICS dinner in Delhi, with his reason for absence unknown.

New Delhi: Chinese President Xi Jinping skipped a gala dinner hosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for BRICS leaders and representatives of participating countries and international organisations in New Delhi on Saturday, sources aware of the matter said.

Xi was among the notable absentees at the dinner held at Bharat Mandapam. Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed, who had left for home after attending the BRICS Summit earlier in the day, was also not present at the event.
