UP elections 2027: Congress seeks 115–120 seats; shares list of 170 constituencies with SP

New Delhi: The Congress has kicked off talks for the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections by giving a list of around 170 constituencies to the Samajwadi Party (SP), according to sources.

Within the party, leaders have sorted these seats into four brackets- A, B, C, and D. This setup is based on how solid the Congress machinery looks on the ground and its realistic chances of winning each seat. For Category A seats, the party sees little scope for compromise.
