New Delhi: NASA has demonstrated a novel technology called Distributed Spacecraft Autonomy (DSA) that allows satellites in a swarm to work towards a common goal while making individual decisions. The conventional approach is for ground teams to command and control individual satellites in a constellation, but as the number of satellites increases, it becomes increasingly challenging to operate the satellites individually. The technology allows for a single command to be delivered to a swarm of satellites, that then figure out how to meet the set objectives autonomously.
