Sri Lanka will not allow its territory to threaten India’s security: President Dissanayake

Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has assured Defence Minister Rajnath Singh that his country will not permit the use of its territory for activities harmful to India’s security. The two countries also signed three agreements to strengthen defence cooperation and jointly inaugurated three Bailey bridges.

New Delhi: Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake on Wednesday assured Defence Minister Rajnath Singh that Colombo would never allow its territory to be used for activities that threaten India’s security interests.

The assurance came during a meeting between the two leaders in Colombo. They discussed the full range of India-Sri Lanka relations, including defence, maritime security, regional stability and development cooperation.
