ISRO launches EOS-05 satellite aboard GSLV-F17, eyes uncrewed Gaganyaan mission this year

ISRO successfully launched its EOS-05 Earth observation satellite aboard the GSLV-F17 rocket from Sriharikota on Friday. The satellite will provide near-real-time images of India from nearly 36,000 kilometres above Earth. ISRO chief Dr V Narayanan also said the agency aims to launch its first uncrewed Gaganyaan mission this calendar year.

New Delhi: India’s space agency ISRO successfully placed its advanced Earth observation satellite EOS-05 into its intended orbit on Friday after a pre-dawn launch from Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh. The GSLV-F17 rocket lifted off from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre at 2:55 am IST.
