Saharanpur mosque demolished after court order, SP MP Iqra Hasan put under house arrest

Authorities demolished a mosque inside the Saharanpur District Magistrate’s office complex after a court upheld an order declaring it illegal. Officials imposed heavy security around the Collectorate, while police placed Samajwadi Party MP Iqra Hasan under house arrest before her proposed visit.

New Delhi: Authorities on Saturday demolished a mosque located inside the District Magistrate’s office complex in Uttar Pradesh’s Saharanpur after a court upheld an earlier order that declared the structure illegal.

Senior administrative officials, including the District Magistrate and Sub-Divisional Magistrate, reached the site as bulldozers pulled down the mosque. The administration deployed Provincial Armed Constabulary personnel across the Collectorate complex. Officials also shut all entry and exit gates as a precaution.
