Festivals are inclusive: Amruta Fadnavis opposes VHP call to bar Muslims from garba
Amruta Fadnavis, wife of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, has opposed the VHP’s call to prevent Muslims from attending garba and dandiya events during Navratri. Actor Shreyas Talpade also rejected the demand, while Maharashtra minister Nitesh Rane supported identity checks and the recital of the Hanuman Chalisa before entry.
New Delhi: Amruta Fadnavis, wife of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, has said festivals should remain inclusive amid a row over the Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s call to bar Muslims from garba and dandiya events in Maharashtra.
The VHP said Muslims would not be allowed to join such events across the state during Navratri, which begins on October 11. Maharashtra minister and BJP leader Nitesh Rane has supported the demand.........
