Ex-Bengal minister Sujit Bose arrested by ED in municipality recruitment scam

Former West Bengal minister Sujit Bose was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on Monday in connection with the alleged municipality recruitment scam linked to the South Dum Dum Municipality, sources said.

New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate on Monday arrested former West Bengal minister Sujit Bose in connection with the alleged municipality recruitment scam, according to sources familiar with the development.

The central agency alleged that Bose recommended nearly 150 candidates for different posts under the South Dum Dum Municipality in return for monetary benefits. According to ED officials, the probe found evidence of proceeds of crime linked to the alleged recruitment irregularities.
