IPL 2026: Sanju Samson’s 87 powers CSK to emphatic 8-wicket win against Delhi Capitals

Sanju Samson slammed a brilliant knock of 87 runs to help Chennai Super Kings thrash Delhi Capitals by 8 wickets in the IPL 2026 on Tuesday.

New Delhi: An unbeaten 87 from Sanju Samson and 41 not out from young Kartik Sharma helped the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) register an emphatic 8-wicket win against the Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, New Delhi, in the IPL 2026 on Tuesday, May 05. Samson stepped up with the bat once again to help CSK dominate in the run chase after a terrific show from their bowlers.

On a two-paced pitch which offered grip and assistance to the bowlers, CSK spinners ran riot against the DC batting line-up to restrict the hosts to 155/7 in 20 overs. Spin twins Noor Ahmad and Akeal Hossen produced impressive spells, picking up three wickets between them to keep the DC batters at bay. It was a stellar combined effort from the CSK bowlers as DC endured another batting collapse at home.
