Write Mind | The 'Ghuspaithiya' Vote Bank: How Opposition Is Stealing Elections While Crying Foul

There is noise. There is politics. Then there is politics of noise. Take the recent hullabaloo over alleged “vote chori" that’s got Rahul Gandhi and his crew up in arms.

They’re going hammer and tongs about elections allegedly rigged in states like Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Haryana, but perhaps if you peel back the layers, it’s their own backyard that’s rotten with infiltrators and fake voters. It comes straight from voter rolls and historical records. This isn’t some conspiracy theory; and trust me, the numbers don’t lie.

But let’s mull over at Rahul Gandhi’s self-proclaimed role as “Samvidhan Rakshak"— the guardian of the Constitution. Oh, the irony! Here are a few pointers in a lighter vein to highlight how he’s more like a “Samvidhan Bhakshak"— devouring the very norms he pretends to protect:

This hypocrisy isn’t new; it’s in the DNA. Rahul Gandhi, the desperate despot — or should I say Rahul Ghendy, with his intolerance baked in from generations — carries a legacy of vote chori and power grabs.

Nehru was the original vote chor, manipulating early polls since the inception of provincial government in 1946, when the entire 12 out of 15 Pradesh Congress Committees (PCC) voted for Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel while three abstained and none were in favor of Nehru. Yet Jawaharlal was anointed as the prime minister of the government.

Indira imposed the Emergency in 1975, fearing loss after her Rae Bareli win was declared null and void for malpractice, in the Raj Narain vs Union of India case of 1985 by the Allahbad High Court.

Sanjay Gandhi, never elected, puppeteered the cabinet like a shadow PM. Rajiv, post-1989 defeat, gracelessly blamed ballot papers instead of accepting the verdict.

Now Rahul: tearing up a cabinet ordinance in 2013 like a tantrum-throwing kid, defaming elected governments, state machinery, courts, and now the EC. It’s a family tradition of intolerance, where democracy is fine only if they win. And there’s a clear pattern of anarchy that Rahul Gandhi wants to unleash.

By undermining institutions........
