The word Gen Z has become the most abused two-syllable phrase in Indian public life, ad nauseam. In the national media, in political speeches, in prime-time debates, in protest videos shot vertically on phones with ring lights conveniently pointed at faces rehearsing outrage. We have been watching. All of us have been watching.

Jantar Mantar has produced some of the most bewildering visual content in recent Indian political memory. Protesters claiming to represent the voice of New India are abusing the Prime Minister, abusing the former Education Minister, mocking Hindu deities, invoking Azadi. Somehow dragging Article 370 into a conversation about exam paper leaks. Somewhere between the chants and the camera angles, someone forgot to connect the dots. Or perhaps connecting dots was never the intention.
