On August 5, 2025, Union Home Minister Amit Shah etched his name in history as India’s longest-serving Home Minister, a tenure spanning 2,258 days marked by transformative reforms and an unrelenting focus on strengthening the nation’s internal security. Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah’s strategic stewardship, India has undergone a seismic shift in its approach to internal security, confronting entrenched challenges head-on and fostering a safer, more cohesive nation. From the bold abrogation of Article 370 to the near-eradication of Naxalism, the introduction of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and robust anti-terror measures, their policies have reshaped India’s security landscape. The revocation of Article 370 on August 5, 2019, stands as a defining moment in India’s modern history. Under HM Amit Shah’s stewardship at the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Modi government dismantled the special status that had granted Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) a separate constitution and flag, integrating the region fully into India’s constitutional framework.
