The Issue: Mayor Mamdani backing down on his vow to arrest Benjamin Netanyahu in NYC.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu should sue Mayor Mamdani for defamation (“Zo’s Threat to US Law,” Jeffrey Lax, PostOpinion, July 23).

His claim that Netanyahu is a criminal is based on a declaration by a group not recognized by the United States. His constant public announcements calling Netanyahu a criminal amount to nothing but slander.

In a time of rampant antisemitism, Mamdani’s rhetoric only exacerbates the situation. He should step aside and let someone who isn’t ravaged by bias take over.
