The Issue: President Trump’s hands-off approach to the Iran war, now in its sixth month

President Trump has put us in a quagmire position with the rest of the world (“Trump’s ‘low-key’ Iran plan,” Aug. 10).

His downfall with the Iranians is no different than what we experienced in Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan. The president thought he had all the cards. Obviously he did not; too many jokers in the deck.

He will most likely back down on his demands and America will return home in disgrace.
