NYC first lady’s antisemitic Instagram likes: Letters to the Editor — March 10, 2026
The Issue: Mayor Mamdani excusing his wife’s liking posts calling Hamas’ Oct. 7, 2023, rapes a hoax.
Is anyone surprised Rama Duwaji, the wife of our antisemitic mayor, liked a post supporting the murderous attack in Israel by Hamas terrorists (“First lady ‘likes’ hate,” March 8)?
It was for good reason that she was noticeably absent on Mayor Mamdani’s campaign trail.
To the Jewish voters who elected him, have you no shame or regrets?

Mamdani’s wife may not be a public figure, but she is married to one, so her actions reflect badly on him and his entire administration.
The mayor must take accountability for antisemitic remarks or actions by anyone around him, including his wife.
Duwaji has not a modicum of heart or humanity in her views on the barbaric, bloodthirsty, sadistic manner in which adults and children were brutally murdered on Oct. 7, 2023.
Her sweet-looking face belies a woman with a callous heart and a lack of dignity who pressed “like” for these atrocities committed in Israel.
First lady of New York City? This bigot is no lady and in no way does she represent this city.
So, since Duwaji is not a public figure, it’s perfectly fine for her to celebrate the murder and rapes of more than 1,200 Israelis?
What seems to be missing is Mamdani himself coming out and strongly disavowing her position. Apparently, he is in total agreement.
Mamdani’s wife brushing aside the Oct. 7 savagery perpetrated upon Israelis as a “mass hoax” adds to her evil intent.
Her sentiments are in step with Holocaust deniers who seek to alter history as a means to delegitimize Israel.
Recently we were talking about how Mamdani failed to support NYC Catholics by not attending the installation of the new archbishop. Now, we’re learning about his wife liking an antisemitic post about the Oct. 7, 2023, attacks.
Together, Catholics and Jews represent a big part of New York City’s population. I wonder how many of them voted for Mamdani.
Perhaps they should look in the mirror when complaining about what is happening to their once great city.
The Issue: Democrats bashing President Trump at Rev. Jesse Jackson’s memorial service.
Jesse Jackson’s son asked for no politics at his father’s funeral (“Four frettings and a funeral,” March 7).
What did Barack Obama, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris do? Used their speeches to diminish President Trump and take shots at Republicans.
Harris’ word-salad speech was pure garbage. Her past as a loser continues to follow her through life.
Trump has done more for our country than any of them. The disrespect they show him is disgusting and needs to stop.
Last week’s funeral for Rev. Jackson brought out the worst in Obama, Biden and Harris, who represent the lowest levels of personal qualities in America’s history.
They turned the solemn service into a show of back-stabbing and barroom humor, all directed at a man not in attendance because he has a war to manage.
Obama, Biden, Harris and Al Sharpton couldn’t even put aside their Trump Derangement Syndrome for a funeral!
Rev. Jackson deserved a better tribute than that.
