The Issue: Admitting he can’t arrest Benjamin Netan­yahu, Mayor Mamdani calls him a “war criminal.”

Hold the front page; the mayor discovered that he can’t arrest Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu (“Zoh is all bark, no cuffs for Bibi,” July 22).

He knew full well that he could not arrest Netanyahu, but wouldn’t drop the talk until he got boxed in by critics. Nothing has been gained from this except fanning the flames of Jew- and Israeli-hate, and spreading the false claim of genocide.

Mamdani’s silence with regard to Russia, Iran and other violent countries, as compared to Israel, reflects his selective politics. He should stick to governing New York City, and keep his disturbing views to himself.
