Another Tiger Woods DUI arrest: Letters to the Editor — April 2, 2026

The Issue: Tiger Woods arrested for driving under the influence after a car crash in Florida.

We should show Tiger Woods sympathy, as he is experiencing debilitating pain from all his many surgeries (“Tiger seeks help,” April 1).

I’m glad he announced that he will be seeking treatment. Hopefully it works, but that doesn’t excuse his irresponsibility in driving while taking medications.

I disagree with The Post’s front-page story on Tiger Woods’ arrest. Woods does not have a “rough legal road ahead.” He is a celebrity and will get off with a minuscule slap in the wrist.

In our country, as long as nobody else is injured, celebrities always seem to get off without any jail time or heavy fines.

Tiger Woods didn’t learn from his first DUI, and unfortunately, this one may put him in jail. It’s hard to feel sorry for somebody (who can afford a lawyer) making the same mistake of driving under the influence.

Unfortunately, he made a bad decision and he’ll pay for it. Florida laws are pretty strict, regardless of his status as a celebrity.

Tiger, you’re a billionaire; didn’t you ever think about having a driver?

The 2012 accident almost took your limb and life. This is your fourth wreck starting since 2009.

You endanger other innocent lives when you’re behind the wheel. Your license should be revoked for life. Drive on the course, never again on the road — grow up.

Tiger should have his license revoked. He may be a great golfer, but he’s not a great driver.

So far, he’s only hurt himself. But if this keeps up, someone else could get hurt or killed. He shouldn’t be behind the wheel of a car.

He’s got enough money to have chauffeurs drive him around. It’s safer for him and other people on the road.

Tiger Woods is one of, if not the, greatest golfers of all time. He’s a father, family man and friend who needs to put the pride aside and get some help.

It will probably be the hardest first step he’s ever taken off the green, but it will change his life.

The Issue: TSA agents receiving back pay after six weeks without pay during the shutdown.

I’m very pleased to know that TSA officers have finally begun receiving their back pay after going weeks without a paycheck (“TSA’s $igh of relief,” March 31).

What makes this situation so puzzling is that $10 billion had been set aside in the Department of Homeland Security’s budget as part of Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill.” Yet it took the president six weeks to dip into that fund and pay the nation’s over 60,000 TSA officers.

During that time, Trump blamed Democrats in Congress for the delay, while Democrats blamed their Republican colleagues. Meanwhile, billions in funding sat there untouched.

Which begs the question: If the money was available all along, why did it take so long to pay the nation’s TSA officers? To paraphrase what Ricky Ricardo would have said to his wife Lucy, “Someone’s got some ’splainin’ to do.”

It’s come to my attention that some TSA agents finally got paid — hallelujah! And no thanks to Sen. Chuck Schumer and the Democrats, who could care less.

This shutdown has lasted over six weeks and has hurt many families who could not buy food or pay the rent and their mortgages. At least President Trump came through with an executive order.
