I never thought I'd be excited about visiting a garden centre, but that's what age does for you, and with a garden needing a splash of colour, nobody's going to do it for me.

But these places can be expensive, especially the larger all-singing all-dancing garden centres we have across the region.

So when I heard about a place selling cheaper plants for pretty much anyone's budget, I decided to head along and see what it has in store.

Family-run R.H.Gill Boscow Nurseries in Little Lever is actually Bolton's highest rated garden centre according to Google reviews and it's got a top rating of 4.7 out of 5 based on more than 400 reviews.
