In the first quarter of 2026, United Airlines passengers were seven million connections into something that was starting to feel routine. Across 344 Starlink-equipped aircraft, the network had handled 167,000 flights and connected 3.7 million devices. People worked, streamed, and a few, perhaps, may have even forgotten they were inside a metal tube at 35,000 feet. The connection was fast enough that forgetting came easily.
