And while the classics expert whose translation inspired the director’s take wasn’t overly impressed by it, it’s fair to say that such a huge pop culture moment is sure to make an impact more widely – especially when it comes to what people name their babies in years to come.

Mythology has a long history of influencing parents’ naming choices – but experts predict The Odyssey might just spark a resurgence in Greek classics.
