Burnham Vows His Government Will Be 'Relentless' In Tackling Small Boats Crisis

Concerns over migration grew after border crossing chaos in Ceuta.

Andy Burnham has promised his government will be “relentless” in curbing how many people arrive in the UK on small boats.

Speaking from Dover, the prime minister said the number of English Channel crossings are down by 50% this year compared to the same period in 2025.

“The month we’ve just had in July has been the lowest number for six years,” he said. “So clearly progress has been made.

“But we’re not complacent, that’s why I’m here, it’s why I’ve come down on Sunday to see........
