Critics are calling out President Donald Trump for a middle-of-the-night Truth Social post attacking Alex Pretti, the nurse shot and killed by federal agents during a confrontation in Minneapolis earlier this month.

New footage from 11 days before the shooting shows Pretti in a heated exchange with federal immigration officers, who were in a vehicle. Pretti spits at the vehicle and kicks out a taillight.

The officers take him to the ground, but he breaks free. The officers fire off tear gas and leave.

The president posted on Truth Social at 1:26 a.m. ET:

“Agitator and, perhaps, insurrectionist, Alex Pretti’s stock has gone way down with the just released video of him screaming and spitting in the face of a very calm and under control ICE Officer, and then crazily kicking in a new and very expensive government vehicle, so hard and violent, in fact, that the taillight broke off in pieces.
